Aladdin and the magical lamp is the first Aladdin plate in a series of 12 plates, produced by Rosenthal, designed by Bjørn Wiinblad. In his 12 Aladdin plates, Wiinblad virtuously depicts the tale of Aladdin from the well know fairy tale One Thousand and One Nights. In this fairy tale Aladdin achieves the greatest treasures and overcomes the gravest dangers, and Bjørn Wiinblad has, in his usual optimistic style, chosen the most important scenes from Aladdin's life.
